Laser Hair Removal

Laser-perfected smooth skin

Candela GentleMax Pro

The Candela GentleMax Pro is a powerful,
dual-wavelength laser system; the most advanced and effective laser for hair removal.

How it Works

Our laser is the industry leader for efficacy and comfort. Please book a consult with us so we can discuss your needs and assess your skin. If necessary, we may do a test spot. Once you are booked for treatment, we ask that you shave the area 12-24 hours before arriving. We will cleanse the area first and then begin the treatment. Our laser emits a short burst of liquid nitrogen before the laser pulse to help cool the skin and reduce any snapping sensation. Most people find the treatment comfortable and easy.

I am a big fan of self-care and skin treatments, and I had been thinking about pulling the trigger on laser hair removal for a long time. Choosing River Stone Skin Studio was hands down the best decision I could have made, and truly the best money I’ve ever spent. I felt absolutely nothing during the treatment, and the results are going to last long term. I honestly cannot believe I waited this long. Best investment ever.

How should I prepare for laser hair removal?2025-12-02T00:11:50+00:00

To prepare for laser hair removal, avoid sun exposure, tanning, waxing, depilatory creams, and plucking for 4 weeks beforehand, and shave the treatment area 12-24 hours before your appointment. Arrive with clean, product-free skin, and inform your provider about any medications or products you are using, especially those that increase sun sensitivity. Avoid products with retinoids, AHAs, or BHAs for a few days before the treatment, as they can increase skin sensitivity.

Can I get laser treatments if I am pregnant?2025-12-01T23:37:16+00:00

No, it is not recommended to get laser hair removal or laser remodelling treatments during pregnancy

Are the results long-lasting?2025-12-01T23:13:39+00:00

Yes. When using the Candela GentleMax Pro Plus under proper maintenance and with trained operators, results are long-lasting, often requiring fewer touch-ups compared to other laser systems.

How many sessions are typically needed?2025-12-01T23:12:57+00:00

The number of sessions varies depending on hair type, density, and skin tone. With a properly maintained GentleMax Pro Plus, patients often achieve faster results than with older or generic machines.

Is laser hair removal safe for all skin tones?2025-12-01T23:12:31+00:00

Yes. The GentleMax Pro Plus results for skin types I–VI are clinically proven. With proper machine maintenance and trained operators, treatments are safe and comfortable for everyone.

Does laser hair removal hurt?2025-12-01T22:55:58+00:00

Laser hair removal with the GentleMax Pro is generally tolerable, but it can be a bit uncomfortable, with many people describing the sensation as a rubber band snapping against the skin. The machine is designed to minimize pain by using a Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) that sprays a cooling mist onto the skin before each laser pulse. However, the level of discomfort can vary based on individual pain tolerance, the treated area, and hair thickness.
